Location : Godshill is the quintessential English Village, and boasts some of the oldest architecture on the Isle of Wight.
Legend has it that the building of a church was begun at the bottom of the hill but large stones kept disappearing overnight and reappearing at the site of the present church at the top of the hill. After two consecutive nights work was restarted but after the third removal of the stones it was assumed that God wanted the Church built on the hill and hence the name Godshill was formed.
The image was captured at 4:30pm using a tripod-mounted Canon 5DmkII and a Canon TS-E24mm f/3.5L II. This camera has been modified to capture IR (Infrared) light and also block visible light, so the colours captured are not normal. The camera was set to Manual with 1/40th second exposure at f/8, ISO 100 and using Live View focusing at 10x on the nearest cottage. The RAW processing, black and white conversion and hand colouring were all done in Photoshop CC. The final image adjustments were done in NIK Color Effects Pro.
