Pic of the Week - Page 41

Marazion Cemetery, St Michael's Mount

Location: St. Michael's Mount which is a tidal island about 400 yards off the Mount's Bay coast of Cornwall, England. I captured this image just after sunrise on a frosty morning in Marazion Cemetery. The mount is connected to the mainland via a man-made causeway passable only at mid to low tide.

This image was captured using a tripod-mounted Canon 5DmkII camera with a Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5 L II lens. I used live view and 10x magnification to manually focus on the nearest gravestone. The camera was set to manual exposure mode, f/16, ISO 100, and daylight white balance. I then captured a series of 12 exposures from 2 seconds all the way to 1/1000th of a second in one-stop increments. The RAW processing, creating and saving the HDRI was all done in Photoshop CS/4. The HDRI was then opened and tone mapped in Photomatix Pro before the final clean-up and image correction/enhancement work was done back in Photoshop.
