Location: Seal Beach in southern California @ dawn.
This image was captured using a tripod-mounted Canon 7D camera with a Canon EF-S 10~22mm F/3.5 lens set at 10mm (16mm full frame equivalent). I auto focused on the beach just ahead and set the switch to manual focus. The camera was set to manual exposure mode, f/16, ISO 100, and daylight white balance. I then captured a series of 10 exposures from 8 seconds all the way to 1/60th of a second in one-stop increments. The RAW processing, creating and saving the HDRI was all done in Photoshop CS/4. The HDRI was then opened and tone mapped in Photomatix Pro before the final clean-up and image correction/enhancement work was done back in Photoshop.
