Location: Sunset behind HMS Warrior at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Britain’s first iron-hulled, armoured warship. Warrior, launched in 1860, was the pride of Queen Victoria’s fleet. Powered by steam and sail, she was the largest, fastest and most powerful ship of her day and had a profound effect on naval architecture.
For this image I shot at 28mm on a 24~70mm lens with a full frame camera @ f/8 and ISO 100. All camera settings were set to manual including white balance (daylight) and focus. I then captured a series of 9 exposures from 8 seconds all the way up to 1/30th of a second in one-stop increments. The RAW processing, creating and saving the HDRI was all done in Photoshop CS/4. The HDRI was then opened and tone mapped in Photomatix Pro before the final clean-up and image correction/enhancement work was done back in Photoshop.
