Old Gosport Ferry that has seen much better days!

This is an old Gosport Ferry boat that I have ridden on many times in my youth, but boy has it seen better days! The new ones are much larger, but they still operate exactly the same crossing and schedule just a few miles from where I found this old one.

I climbed up on the old rusted out barge at sunset and set my camera carefully on a tripod with cable release, bubble level, 24/70mm zoom lens set at 27mm, f/11, ISO 100, all camera settings in manual. I made sure the camera was level in both directions, focused on the front of the barge, locked the focus, and captured a series of 10 exposures from 8 seconds up to 1/60 of a second. The RAW processing, creating and saving the HDR was all done in Photoshop CS/4. The HDR was then opened and tone mapped in Photomatix Pro before the final clean-up and image correction/enhancement work back in Photoshop.
