Mont Saint Michel

Location : Mont Saint Michel in Normandy, France. I drove over there on a trip for PhotoPlus to shoot two MasterClasses, one of them on Mont Saint Michel but not this image. This image was captured using a tripod-mounted Canon 5DmkII camera with a Canon TS-E 17mm f/4 L lens. Shift was used to keep Mont Saint Michel upright. I used Liveview and 10x magnification to manually focus on the tide pool just in front of me. The camera was set to manual exposure mode, f8, ISO 100 and daylight white balance. I then captured a series of 8 exposures from 30 seconds all the way to ¼ of a second in one-stop increments. The entire workflow was done in Photoshop CS/5 using the Nik HDR plug-in software.
