Image Location : Bembridge Windmill (or Knowle Mill) a preserved tower mill on the Isle of Wight.
It is the only surviving windmill on the Isle of Wight and is one of the island's most iconic images. Built around 1700, it last operated in 1913 but still has most of its original machinery intact. It is now owned by the National Trust.
This image was captured at sunrise, using a Panasonic Lumix GX8 with a Lumix G Vario 35-100mm F/2.8 lens set to 35mm (equivalent to 70mm on a full frame camera). The camera was tripod mounted and autofocused on the windmill. The camera was set to Aperture priority f/8 giving a 1/400th of a second exposure at ISO 200 with daylight white balance. The RAW processing and final adjustments were all done in Photoshop CC (including the oil painting look)! |
