Image Location : A public footpath on St Boniface Down on the Isle of Wight.
We have really been rewarded with some lovely misty mornings lately and this is the highest Down(?) on the island. I came here expecting lots of mist and hopefully be above it to shoot down through it but with the wind it was mostly clear towards the sea but very moody so I had lots of fun! St Boniface Down is a chalk down on the Isle of Wight, England. It is located close to the town of Ventnor, in the southeast of the Island, and rises to 241 meters, the Island's highest point, 1 kilometer north of the town.
This image was captured using a Panasonic Lumix GX8 with a Lumix G Vario 12-35mm F/2.8 lens set to 35mm (equivalent to 70mm on a full frame camera). The camera was hand held and autofocused on the sign. The camera was set to Aperture priority f/8 giving a 1/2000th of a second exposure at ISO 200 with daylight white balance. The RAW processing and final adjustments were all done in Photoshop CC but I did use Nik Silver Efex Pro 2 and color Efex Pro (which are now free from Google and I heartily recommend them) filters with several layers to get this highly stylized look. |
