Wild Sea Thrift, Freshwater Bay

Image Location : sunset behind Freshwater Bay, Isle of Wight.

Freshwater Bay is a secluded natural bay cut in the imposing white chalk cliffs, with stunning views out across the English Channel and along the beautiful western coastline of the Island. There is a small shingle beach in Freshwater Bay, which is perfect for a refreshing swim, with it's clear water and secluded cove. Freshwater Bay is also the perfect spot to begin a walk up and along the cliff-tops, with the Tennyson Trail offering amazing 360 degree views of the UK coast line and the English Channel.

This image was captured at sunset using a Panasonic Lumix GX8 with a LUMIX G VARIO 7-14mm F/4.0 lens set to 9mm (equivalent to 18mm on a full frame camera). The camera was on a tripod using manual focus on the thrift. The camera was set to Aperture Priority f/8 giving a 1/50th of a second exposure at ISO 200 with daylight white balance. The RAW processing and final adjustments were all done in Photoshop CC.
