Armeria maritima

Image Location : Wild Sea Thrift, Freshwater Bay, Isle of Wight.

Armeria maritima, commonly known as thrift, sea thrift or sea pink, is a species of flowering plant in the family Plumbaginaceae. It is a compact perennial which grows in low clumps and sends up long stems that support globes of bright pink flowers.

This image was captured mid-morning using a Panasonic Lumix GX8 with a LUMIX G VARIO 7-14 F/4.0 set to 7mm (equivalent to 14mm on full frame camera). I was hand holding the camera and using autofocus on the thrift. The camera was set to Aperture Priority f/9 giving a 1/500th of a second exposure at ISO 200 with daylight white balance. The RAW processing and final adjustments were all done in Photoshop CC.
