Image location : Freshwater Bay on the Isle of Wight.
Freshwater Bay is one of the most picturesque beaches in West Wight and is covered in a mixture of grey flint and chalk pebbles that make a unique sound as the waves rise and fall onto the shore. The bay is easily recognised by its chalk cliffs and the imposing “Stag” and “Mermaid” rocks that sit at the edge of the coast, which are a magnet for photographers on the Isle of Wight.
This image was captured at sunrise using a tripod-mounted Canon 5DmkIII camera and a Canon EF24-70mm f/2.8 L lens set to 43mm and focused on the hyper-focal point. The camera was set to Manual with a 1/60th second exposure at f/11, ISO 100 and daylight white balance. The RAW processing and final adjustments were all done in Photoshop CC.
