Location : Hurst Point Lighthouse and Hurst Castle photographed from across the Solent at Fort Victoria Country Park, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight.
Last weekend we were lucky enough to have clear skies with great views of the full ‘super’ moon, or ‘harvest’ moon, being late September.
This image was captured on Monday morning at 7:00am to catch the full moon setting just as the sun was rising behind me which produced the warm colour in the sky. These colours are completely natural since the image was shot and processed with daylight white balance and no colour adjustments have been made. The fishing boat was intentionally blurred, given the slow shutter speed.
I was using a tripod-mounted Canon 5DmkIII camera and a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5 L lens set to 400mm with Live View focusing at 10x on the lighthouse. The camera was set to 1/4 of a second exposure at f/11, ISO 100 and daylight white balance. The RAW processing and final adjustments were all done in Photoshop CC.
