A high-wattage home in Southstoke Road, Bath, that I often pass heading to and from Gosport. It’s a bit OTT, but the image does have a distinctly Christmasy feel to it. I hope your holidays are really special this year and that you welcome the New Year with great hope and expectation. Merry Christmas and all the best for 2014! Hope your travels are great and your images even better!
This image was shot using a tripod-mounted Canon 5DmkIII camera and an EF24-70mm f/2.8 L lens set to 43mm. I used Live View focusing at 10x to manually focus on the house. The camera was set to manual exposure mode, f/8, ISO 100 and daylight white balance. I then captured a series of 11 exposures from 1/30th of a second all the way to 30 seconds in one stop increments. The RAW processing, creating and saving of the HDRI was all done in Photoshop CS6. The HDRI TIFF file was then opened and tone mapped in Photomatix Pro. The final adjustments were then done back in Photoshop using a couple of optimized layers from a separate image out of the set to adjust some of the displays.
