South Stack Lighthouse

Location: South Stack Lighthouse off Holy Island, off the Isle of Anglesey coast in North Wales. I liked the flowers covering the cliffs and the location of the lighthouse which was many steep steps below us across a narrow suspension bridge.

This image was captured using a Canon 7D camera with a Canon 17~40mm F/4L lens. The camera was hand held because I had climbed over the wall and scrambled down a very steep slope to be near the flowers. It was set to aperture priority, 1/200th second, f/11, ISO 100, 17mm and daylight white balance. I used manual hyperfocal focusing and took two exposures, one at 1/100th for the foreground flowers and one at 1/200th for the sea and sky, also waited for good light behind the lighthouse. The RAW processing, compositing, editing and saving the image was all done in Photoshop CS/5.
