Pic of the Week - Page 34

Waves breaking over rocks just after sunrise

Location: St. Abbs on the North Sea coast in Scotland.

This image was captured using a tripod-mounted Canon 5DmkII with a 24~70mm F/2.8L lens set at 58mm. I auto focused on the rocks about 10’ in front of me and set the lens switch to manual focus. The camera was set to manual exposure mode, f/8, ISO 100, and daylight white balance. I needed a good depth of field but figured the slowest I could go with the crashing waves was about 1/60th of a second. The RAW processing and clean-up work was all done in Photoshop CS/4.
