Ashton Windmill

Location : Ashton Windmill, Chapel Allerton, Somerset. This image was captured about 8:00am using a tripod-mounted, infrared-converted Canon 50D camera with a Canon EF 16~35mm f/2.8L II lens set at 16mm. I used Liveview and 10x magnification to manually focus on the windmill. The camera was set to manual exposure mode, 1/80th second, f/11, ISO 100, and custom white balance. The RAW processing, editing, enhancement and saving of the image was all done in Photoshop CS/5. The IR image was converted to monochrome and then “painted” from a colour version on a separate layer.
