Image Location : The ‘supermoon’ rising over Ryde pier on the Isle of Wight.
It was just about sunset on Sunday evening when I walked out almost half a mile with the low tide on the beach at Ryde to capture the image I had been planning all week. Living so many years in Minnesota I only had to plan the moon and sun rise/set times for my location photography but here I find that I often need to consult tide tables as well to get my shot! Happy Days ;-)
This image was captured early evening at sunset. I was using a Panasonic Lumix GX8 with a Lumix DG 100-400mm F/4-6.3 lens set to 400mm (equivalent to 800mm on a full frame camera). The camera was monopod and I used ‘back button’ autofocus on the pier. The camera was set to Aperture priority f/8 giving a 1/10th of a second exposure at ISO 200 with daylight white balance. The RAW processing and final adjustments were all done in Photoshop CC. This image is a single exposure and not manipulated. |
