Image Location : Captured in Newtown National Nature Reserve, Isle of Wight.
Newtown River is a large natural inland harbour located on the Isle of Wight's northwestern coast. It is sometimes also referred to as Newtown Creek. It is the only national nature reserve on the island and is owned by the National Trust. Newtown River consists of a number of estuaries of small rivers, and has the form of several finger-like indentations in the coastline. It is a quiet backwater with a busy medieval past, but is now bursting with wildlife.
This image was captured in the evening using a tripod-mounted Canon 5DmkIII camera and a Canon EF24-70mm f/4 L lens set to 24mm, focused on the closest post. I fitted a Hitech Firecrest 4.8 16 stop Neutral Density Filter to allow a long exposure. The camera was set to Manual with 240 seconds exposure on Bulb at f/22, ISO 100 with daylight white balance. The RAW processing and final adjustments were all done in Photoshop CC.
