Location : The Emirates Spinnaker Tower, photographed from across the Solent on Ryde Esplanade, Isle of Wight.

It is 4.8 miles as the crow flies from the esplanade to Spinnaker Tower, so I needed the full reach of my 400mm telephoto lens. There is a cruise ship that has sailed out of Southampton Docks streaking by, hopefully going on to somewhere nice and warm!

This image was captured using a tripod-mounted Canon 5DmkIII camera and a Canon EF100-400mm f/5.6 L lens set to 400mm and focused on infinity. The camera was set to Manual with a 10 seconds exposure at f/16, ISO 320 and daylight white balance. (10 seconds was about the best exposure for the speed of the liner, I do love digital preview!) The RAW processing and final adjustments were all done in Photoshop CC.
