If you have been to the Isle of Wight, you know what a special place it is. Whether visiting as a holiday-maker, sailor, cyclist, hiker or festival-goer, you have come to appreciate its relaxed pace, friendly welcome and beautiful landscapes. The islandís unique character and charm lie in its stunning scenery and tranquillity - all within easy reach for a great day out with friends and colleagues as you experience the very best the island has to offer.

Isle of Wight photo workshops give you time to experience the islandís coastal magic or its inland landscapes and rural idyll. Nearly half of the Isle of Wight is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, including over 50 miles of Heritage Coast, both part of the national family of protected landscapes recognised for their special qualities and character. Itís your tour, so you decide where to go and how long to stay. We are happy to offer suggestions and a wide range of choices aligned with your interests.

The workshops are for a small group of maximum 3 photographers per session. Workshops last a day, about 8 hours, cover a range of skill levels and are tailored to individual needs. The small group size ensures that participants receive lots of individual attention and that training content is appropriate to your technical level and range of interests. The goal of the photo workshops is to help you become a more knowledgeable, capable and confident photographer while having fun Ė because learning should be fun.

Day @ the Coast Workshop

This practical one-day workshop is for photographers who want to get to grips with camera settings and learn more about what you need to set for your favourite subjects. We will practice becoming comfortable with the cameraís basic settings and optimizing them to suit your photographic style. This is an ideal workshop for begineers, come and enjoy a day learning how to use your camera to take better photographs.

Then weíll capture images and work on helping you improve your technique while also developing your eye for composition and framing. This workshop will help you bring together subject, lighting, colour, depth of field, focal length, camera angle, and design elements to produce images with impact. By practicing some of the skills of good photographic composition, you can learn to elevate an ordinary image to a memorable one. This workshop is all about seeing and observing, not simply looking.

Workshops last a day, about 8 hours, cover a range of skill levels and are tailored to meet individual needs. We will have a lunch break around mid-day. The small group size ensures that participants receive lots of individual attention and that the content is appropriate to your technical level and range of interests. We will spend the day helping you to improve not only your technique but also developing your eye for composition and framing of your images.

We will meet in a central location where you can leave your car. From there you will be transported to the various venues before returning to your car at the end of the workshop. Your food, drink and other personal requirements are not covered in the workshop fee. We will decide as a group where to have a snack/meal break around the middle of the workshop, but we recommend that you bring a drink/flask with you as well.

This is a practical course where we spend time capturing images and improving photographic technique with help and guidance. You will leave this workshop being a more confident and capable photographer.
