A weekend or three day photography workshop on the Isle of Wight.
If you have been to the Isle of Wight, you know what a special place it is. Whether visiting as a holiday-maker, sailor, cyclist, hiker or festival-goer, you have come to appreciate its relaxed pace, friendly welcome and beautiful landscapes. The islandís unique character and charm lie in its stunning scenery and tranquillity - all within easy reach for a great day out with friends and colleagues as you experience the very best the island has to offer.
Isle of Wight photo workshops give you a full weekend to experience the islandís coastal magic or its inland landscapes and rural idyll. Nearly half of the Isle of Wight is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, including over 50 miles of Heritage Coast, both part of the national family of protected landscapes recognised for their special qualities and character. Itís your tour, so you decide where to go and how long to stay. We are happy to offer suggestions and a wide range of choices aligned with your interests.
The Isle of Wight is officially the sunniest place in the whole of Britain and with 60 miles of coastline in a small package it provides just endless photographic opportunities. Our aim is to get you about, suggest good angles and interesting subjects, and help you hone your skills receiving as much, or as little, training as you like. The day is yours to enjoy as you learn, capture great shots and have fun bringing home high-quality images. We cater to all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, so everyone can benefit from the workshop experience.
Your weekend workshop begins when we greet you at your port of entry - in Ryde (from Portsmouth), Cowes (from Southampton) or Yarmouth (from Lymington). The tour begins the moment you arrive. Assuming itís a weekend, we can start any time after lunch on Friday. Depending on your arrival time, light conditions and preferences, we can get you to your hotel for check-in, go to a good location for sunset, enjoy a meal and then return to your place of lodging for the night.
Saturday morning can be an early start to photograph sunrise probably on the eastern side of the island. We can then enjoy a good breakfast somewhere close by. Next weíll head in the direction that suits the kind of photography you would like to do, making the most of your time, light direction and scenic spots. Optionally, if you want to explore somewhere on your own or have a bit of free time to yourself, that is totally your choice as to when and where. We finish when you feel youíre done, as the hours are completely flexible. You can stay out for sunset, or continue by doing some night photography (the island has a Dark Sky area). We will ensure that you have a good choice of the usual meal options before dropping you back at your hotel for the night.
Sunday can begin very much like Saturday. After breakfast you can check out and collect your bags before we set off for more photo opportunities. On this last day we finish when you feel youíre done and you have images that you like. The hours are completely flexible. At the end of your photo tour, weíll make sure you get back in time for your journey home.
Isle of Wight photo workshops are for ideally suited to small groups, two or three individuals per group will ensures lots of individual attention.
